History

Founded over 35 years ago by a dedicated band of enthusiasts....

We are a progressive Society of approx. 350 members who maintain a well-equipped research facility and an extensive library of  over 18,000 records on CD ROM, microfiche, film and books.

The Society is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit making organization whose objectives are:
  • To promote the study, practice and preservation of genealogy, heraldry, topography, history, biography, heredity of family, local history and allied subjects.
  • To foster the spirit of friendliness, co-operation and to give assistance to members through mutual sharing of information and techniques.
  • To continue to build the Society’s reference library and resources.
