'House Histories and Cemetery Stories' Guest Speaker: Kyla Stephan
House Histories and Cemetery Stories
This session will explore the value of historical land records in Queensland, where to acquire them and how they can be used to find new research paths to follow in public libraries and family history organisations. It will also provide an overview of the story of cemeteries in our local area, highlighting the sometimes surprising places where cemetery records can be found and the challenges facing researchers. While the talk uses Gold Coast examples, the focus of the session is on problem solving and finding creative ways to link people and places irrespective of whether research is local or much further afield. |
