Member's visit and tour of Local Studies at Southport Library

A special exploration of Gold Coast Library local history collection

 
While your research may not be centered on the Gold Coast or even Queensland, library staff will showcase the different types of unique resources held in heritage collections that can be used to further your own family history explorations.

They will also share strategies and provide examples drawn from their own experience assisting customers to uncover the stories of people and places.

​This event is perfect if you’ve hit a road block in your own research, suspect that there may be resources beyond what’s online or would like to catch up with other members and chat about family history.

Kyla Stephan

Kyla is a librarian with over twenty years’ experience.
Since 2008, Kyla has been the Local Studies Librarian for Gold Coast Libraries, focusing on collecting and sharing the history of the region with the community and researchers. She has regularly presented at conferences and seminars.
